Profile for Mickey and Goofy



We are a husband and wife geocaching team residing in Western Michigan. Our Hobbies are Geocaching, Camping and Nature Photography.

We both love Disney and visit Disney World every year, this is why we choose our geo-names.

Mickey (Laurie) retired fron nursing and worked in a local hospital. Goofy (Lon) retired as a School Bus driver and Wedding Photographer.

We are both now enjoying retirement together and now look forward to enjoying life. We now have time to Geocache and take our Nature pictures. Our photography has taken a back seat sense we found geocaching. We plan to more time for both and are trying to combine Camping, Caching and Photography.

We just can't understand why people toss out their trash around our beautiful land and not take just a little effort and put it where it belongs in the trash.

I (Goofy) try with every cache that we put out to raise the geocaching bar a bit with each cache placed. Our caches are mostly unique and what Great Hides is all about "Creative and Fun". Click our Profile button at the top of this page and visit our Cache Hides and read some of the Logs.

Goofy talks about Great HidesI like the Internet and have a web site as soon as "Windows" came out DOS, short for "Disk Operating System" language was boring and in the late 80s my first web site. I owned a company called Shoreline Video a video production and photography studio. I just had to have a "Shoreline Video" web site so in 1993  I made my first web site. I have been making my own web sites ever sense and have fun doing it. Then Geocaching came into my life and one day I thought "Why Not" yep it was then I thought what kind of site do I want to make? After trying a couple ideas and designs I finely came up with "Great Hides" next I needed to register the name and yes it was available. I started out with just a couple pages then I added the forums and we were off and running.
Great Hides first thought to be a web site all about Geocaching, Fun things and Creative Hides. I think that I have done that. I will always be trying to improve Great Hides and mainly the Creative Hides part of the site.
