This is Goofy's Original Mini Ammo Box Cache the First Mini Ammo Box Cache Made and Hidden!
It was thought up a couple years ago and originally made a little smaller but couldn't hold much and we wanted it to hold small geo-coins so it was re-designed into what you see now here and in our "Geo Goodies" Page.

Geocache hides can very a lot some are very easy to find and I don't know anyone that don't like to find that easy hide. Others will will talk about the cache hide that they don't like but .... they will still pick them up as a find, just not their favorite. That's the fun of geocaching there are so many typs of geocache hides out there and you just never know for sure what the next cache find is going to be. This Cache Hide was thought up by Goofy of Mickey and Goofy to put a twist on the Ammo Box cache hides and it worked!

This is the original Mini Ammo Box after two years out in the Michigan outdoors hidding as a GeoCache through two Winters. It has held up very well showing only a little paint wear. It has been even stepped on once!


When we opened it up this is what we found. Today the Snow had melted enough and we could find this ammo box. What looks like rust is NOT RUST it is the Copper that the box is made of. The only thing that I can see is that the paint is showing some wear and thats not a problem.


Here it is with all it's original contents shown. I had everything in zip bags the Log bag is not shown in this picture.


My Mini Travel Bug!

You see I wanted to get cleaver so I:
* Left the Cache size un-checked on the cache page.
* In the log I state that they are looking for a Ammo Box.
* The Cache page shows that it is holding a Geo-Coin and a Travel Bug.

Now that's Evil! They look all over for a full size ammo box!
You can see in the picture that I had a little note asking that the Geo-Coin and the
Travel Bug is for "Descover Only" so they stay with the cache.


Last I just wanted to get cleaver and hand made a super small Cache Log.......and it's full of names!
As you can see the log is still in Great Shape.

Finishing comments:

When thinking of then designing and constructing the mini Ammo Box Cache it was the devel in me that made me do it. Really I wanted to send cachers off looking for what they would naturally think that the cache would be a ammo box. The first thought would be to look for a regulay full size ammo box that you find a lot. Most cachers will walk all over looking for that big metal box and this Mini Ammo Box would be right in front of them and not see it! Especially when it is holding a Geo-Coin and a Travel Bug. Use your imagination get creative with your cache hides, use a little trickery and you get them thinking.
